One thing that unites us all is sleep. The average person spends about 26 years sleeping and it plays a huge role in the world’s daily routine. But most of us have lived through the struggle of trying to drift off at night. Whether it’s a newborn baby, a big work assignment or general anxiety, the feeling of lying awake in bed can be agonising. It can affect everything including your memory, relationships, work and long-term health.
Psychologist Dr Julie Smith is on the hunt for the perfect night’s rest, for this first episode, Julie speaks to Dr Kat Lederle who has spent over 15 years of her life studying the body clock and sleep and their effects on behaviour and wellbeing.
Kat discusses the impact sleep deprivation can have on people and shares her advice on how people can improve their sleep & bedtime routine.
