The new Monday

Electronic music producer and drummer Zachary Shigeto Saginaw, aka Shigeto, grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he picked up the drums & under his mentor Vincent York, began playing jazz.

Immersed in the electronic music of SE Michigan, Zach began producing & moved to NYC to attend the New School. After school and moving between London, Brooklyn, and Michigan he began releasing music under the name Shigeto.

His third Album ‘The new Monday’ is all about the community of Detroit, poignantly referencing musical influences and interpreting Detroit’s rich culture of innovative artistry, but done so with respect for the history and to contribute, not disrupt. The album is a fusion that encompasses elements of dance music, jazz, hip-hop and ambient sounds.
